[. . . ] Under NO circumstances should solid ice be forced off the lining or shelves. See Defrost Instructions. Installation This appliance is heavy. It is dangerous to alter the specifications or attempt to modify this product in any way. Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance does not stand on the electrical supply cable. [. . . ] Defrosted cooked food must never be refrozen. Normal Operating Sounds You may hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing at the rear, to the cooling plate/evaporator or to the fixed freezer shelves. When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round, and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor. A thermostat controls the compressor, and you will hear a faint click when the thermostat cuts in and out. Dual purpose meat box The meat box can also be used as a salad crisper. The lid is reversible and when storing meat the 10 mm gap allows the meat to breathe. By reversing the lid the box becomes airtight and can be used as a salad crisper. 6 Movable shelves The walls of the refrigerator have runners so that the shelves can be positioned as desired . For better use of space, the front half-shelves can lie over the rear ones. D338 Positioning the door shelves To permit storage of food packages of various sizes, the door shelves can be adjusted in height. To do this proceed as shown in the diagram. The top shelf can be removed for easier cleaning. D007 Drink dispenser The container for cooling drinks is located in the door of the fridge. It is easily removed from its runners for filling and cleaning by pushing it upwards from the left side and then by pulling sharply outwards. Before using the dispenser, we recommend that you rinse it several times with hot water. For thorough cleaning of the container add a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda to the rinsing water. Push the dispenser tap on and off several times to allow sugar deposits from soft drinks or wines to dissolve, or alternatively remove for cleaning by unscrewing in an anticlockwise direction. Check the ambient temperature is within the appliances operating limits of 10C to 32C. The freezer door will not open The compressor runs continously Has door just been opened?Large quantities of food have recently been placed in the cabinet/and or door is frequently opened. Check that air ventilation is not obstructed. Excessive frost and ice has built up Ensure the doors are not left open. Is the door gasket intact and clean. Noise Water under the salad bin Refer to normal operating sounds. (see Maintenance and Cleaning). Low ambient operation During prolonged periods of low ambient temperatures, ie;10C and lower, the compressor on single compressor fridge freezers can remain inoperative during this time . This is due to the air temperature within the refrigerator compartment being maintained at 6C or under thus not calling the thermostat to energise the compressor . 11 During a normal night time period of approximately 8 hours a traditional fridge freezer can normally maintain the frozen food temperature but if the appliance is left for longer period in a low ambient the freezer will defrost . If, after the above checks, there is still a fault, call your local Service Force Centre. In-guarantee customers should ensure that the above checks have been made as the engineer will make a charge if the fault is not a mechanical or electrical breakdown. Please note that proof of purchase is required for any in-guarantee service calls.
